GameTap is the presenting sponsor for the first U.S. Download Music Festival
Music fans attending the first ever stateside version of the wildly popular U.K. Download Festival will get to play an American original while enjoying some of today's hottest bands. Turner Broadcasting System's GameTap broadband entertainment network (www.GameTap.com) is bringing its tagline "Expand Your Playground" to life by giving thousands of concert-goers access to the network at the festival via their Gaming Den. Via broadband-connected PCs, visitors to the Gaming Den will be among the first to get their hands on some of the hundreds of games that will be available on GameTap at launch.
Download Festival is being held near San Francisco at the Shoreline Amphitheater on Saturday, October 8, 2005 and is a blend of music and technology. Headliners will include some of the hottest bands like The Killers, Modest Mouse, Doves, H.I.M. and Arcade Fire. Tickets go on sale on Sunday, July 31, 2005. Festival information can be found at www.downloadfestival.com.
