Turner Broadcasting's subscription-based broadband games service, GameTap, has announced three new licensing deals with renowned videogames publishers.

GameTap has secured licensing deals with Interplay Entertainment, SNK PLAYMORE USA and Riverdeep, adding a combined total of over 150 new titles to the PC broadband games download service, which launched in October 2005.

New additions to the service under the terms of the licensing deals include Clayfighter, MDK, Virtual Tennis, Ikari Warriors and Earthworm Jim, amongst many others. The new titles will compliment the existing selection of over 300 classic arcade, console and PC software titles available on GameTap, providing gamers with a continually expanding library of popular videogames for a flat monthly fee of USD 14.95.

Stuart Snyder, general manager at GameTap, commented: "Interplay, SNK PLAYMORE and Riverdeep will bring a great collection of both classic and newer titles that are sure to keep our subscribers entertained. The addition of Riverdeep also adds to GameTap's library of educational games, a genre that we are looking forward to continually grow."

The games-on-demand service was officially launched in October 2005, with over 300 titles from 24 publishers. In addition to the provision of both classic and more recent popular games from all genres and multiple gaming platforms, the GameTap service offers a range of original game-related programming for broadband users.

The company recently announced compatibility with Intel's Viiv platform, allowing subscribers to play downloaded games on their television sets through Viiv PC's Windows XP Media Centre. Wireless USB controllers, including the Xbox 360 PC gamepads will also be supported.
