GameStop hails 'first ever' DLC pre-order campaign
US retailer targets digital revenues with Halo: Reach content campaign
US retailer GameStop has announced it will be offering free bonus content with its upcoming pre-order option for Halo: Reach DLC - the Noble add-on pack.
The company is claiming it is the first retailer to offer pre-orders on DLC, as it attempts to see a percentage of digital revenues that it would ordinarily not be able to take part in.
And the company is incentivising shoppers to set up their pre-order at a GameStop store by offering an exclusive in-game item - the Mark V Spartan Flaming Helmet.
"Halo fans and gamers are looking forward to accessing hours of new gameplay and extending the Halo Reach experience," said GameStop president Tony Bartel. "We are excited to provide our customers with easy access to great, new digital content, and at a $10 price point, we believe it's a great value."
The content is released on November 30 in the US for $9.99, and customers must have a PowerUp Rewards account to take part.
