CNET's GameSpot announced that it has named Ricardo Torres its new editor-in-chief.
Torres, who has been a member of the editorial team since 2001, officially takes over the reins from Greg Kasavin who left the site a year ago.
"I'm eager to continue the site's tradition of excellence and I'm confident we can move forward into 2008 and set a new industry standard for how videogames are covered," Torres said.
GameSpot received much attention last year for the circumstances surrounding the departure of long-time editor Jeff Gerstmann. Torres was previously an editorial director along with Gerstmann.
