GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair unveiled

The dates for this year's GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair have been unveiled as October 28-29, and the event will once again take place as part of the London Games Fesitval.

The dates for this year's GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair have been unveiled as October 28-29, and the event will once again take place as part of the London Games Festival.

Last year's oversubscribed event attracted 2000 visitors through the door to meet potential employers, including RealTime Worlds, Sega, Electronic Arts, NCsoft and many more, as well as universities and colleges offering games courses.

"We're really excited at the prospect of making this year's event even bigger and better than last year's success, and I'm delighted that the GamesIndustry.biz brand will be associated with something that brings together industry recruiters, graduates and those looking to further their careers - all in one place," said GamesIndustry.biz editor Phil Elliott.

This year's fair will demonstrate continued commitment to industry excellence with an expansion to the education and recruitment sections over last year's much-praised event.

"The turnout has been absolutely superb from our point of view," said Julian Davidson, recruitment manager at Sega, after the 2007 fair. "We've seen so many people, and it's great for us to be talking to the guys who are actual fans of our company, and fans of the games that we make."

And ELSPA director general, Paul Jackson, added: "I just think it's fabulous, I think it's one of the most exciting events I've ever seen, and it's probably one of the most important in that this is where we're going to attract new talent into the industry."
