GamesIndustry.biz boosts editorial team with new Editor and Deputy Editor
Brighton, England, August 21, 2006: The editorial team for the world's leading industry news and information source, GamesIndustry.biz, has received a major boost today with the appointment of Ellie Gibson as Trade Editor. In addition, Matt Martin has joined the company as Deputy Trade Editor.
The pair will take responsibility for both GamesIndustry.biz and MobileIndustry.biz. The appointments of Gibson and Martin are a major step forward for the company, and will allow the sites to remain at the forefront of the news agenda as the next-generation console battle gets underway.
Gibson joined Eurogamer Network in March 2005, taking on the role of News Editor. Before joining the company, Martin worked as Deputy Editor for trade magazine MCV, and was previously editor of consumer title PSG.
Managing Director Rupert Loman said, "We're delighted to strengthen the team by appointing Matt Martin, who is a very experienced and respected trade journalist. "Additionally, Ellie has made a massive impact since joining as news editor last year and we're very please to promote her to Editor of the sites."
The site's founding Editor, Rob Fahey, will remain with the company and will be working on new projects.
GamesIndustry.biz was launched in 2002 and quickly established itself as a trustworthy news and information outlet for the industry. Complemented by a hugely popular newsletter and jobs board, the site is now branching out into areas such as events. The recent GamesIndustry.biz Summer Party was attended by over 600 members of the industry and the upcoming London Game Career Fair will offer games industry professionals, graduates and students alike an opportunity to meet top games developers and publishers face to face.
