GamesIndustry.biz, the world's leading games industry news and information source, has announced the appointment of Matt Martin as deputy trade editor and Ellie Gibson as trade editor.
Together, Gibson and Martin will take responsibility for GamesIndustry.biz and sister site MobileIndustry.biz. They plan to ensure that the sites remain at the forefront of the news agenda as the next-gen console battle gets underway.
Gibson joined Eurogamer Network in March 2005, taking on the role of news editor. Before joining the company, Martin worked as deputy editor for trade magazine MCV, and was previously editor of consumer title PSG.
"We're delighted to strengthen the team by appointing Matt Martin, who is a very experienced and respected trade journalist," said Eurogamer Network MD Rupert Loman.
"Additionally, Ellie has made a massive impact since joining as news editor last year and we're very pleased to promote her to editor of the sites."
GamesIndustry.biz was launched in 2002 and quickly established itself as a trustworthy news and information outlet for the industry. Complemented by a hugely popular newsletter and jobs board, the site is now branching out into areas such as events.
The recent GamesIndustry.biz Summer Party was attended by over 600 members of the industry and the upcoming London Game Career Fair will offer games industry professionals, graduates and students alike an opportunity to meet top games developers and publishers face to face.
The site's founding editor, Rob Fahey, will remain with the company and will be working on new projects.
