GamesIndustry.biz appoints new editor
Press Release
Brighton, England, July 24, 2007: GamesIndustry.biz, the world's leading trade publication for the videogames industry, today announces the appointment of Phil Elliott to the role of editor.
Elliott joins GamesIndustry.biz following a year as editor of GameSpot UK. Prior to that he worked at BBC Radio Five Live. He replaces Ellie Gibson, who moves into the role of content editor across the Eurogamer Network of websites.
The appointment follows on from the recent appointment of Mark Androvich as US editor and the site recording the highest monthly readership figures since it was founded five years ago.
Eurogamer Network managing director Rupert Loman said, "This appointment comes at the perfect time. We're looking forward to having Phil on board. We've got fantastic plans for GamesIndustry.biz to consolidate its marketing-leading position and we believe the team we have in place means we are in great shape for future growth".
Elliott added, "I'm delighted to be joining such a talented team--it's an exciting time for the industry, with more people playing games, and for longer, than ever before."
The GamesIndustry.biz UK team will be at the Develop Conference in Brighton this week. The company is also hosting a party for invited guests on Thursday night to mark the close of the conference.
