GamesIndustry.biz changes team line-up

Elliott promoted to publisher as Dan Pearson joins respected industry community site

GamesIndustry.biz is delighted to announce that it has expanded its editorial team, with the appointment of former Eurogamer.net writer Dan Pearson.

"After three and a half years as a member of the Eurogamer team, I felt it was time to step up and take on a new challenge," he said. "GamesIndustry.biz offers me exactly that and I look forward to help develop the hugely-respected reporting on the site."

He joins the team as staff writer, and will contribute to all areas of the leading business community's content output.

Meanwhile, former managing editor Phil Elliott has been promoted to the role of publisher, taking on overall responsibility for all trade-related aspects of the Eurogamer Network, including GamesIndustry.biz, the GamesIndustry.biz Network and the GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair.

"We've made a lot of progress since I joined the company three years ago, and it's great to see how the videogames business continues to support what we're trying to do," commented Elliott.

"But with a fully-focused trade community comes a whole new set of challenges and opportunities, and I'm hugely excited about helping the company to realise its full potential."

Elliott joined GamesIndustry.biz as editor in 2007, before being promoted to managing editor in 2008. Prior to that he worked as UK editor for GameSpot for a year, before which he was at the BBC for four years.

Matt Martin, currently GamesIndustry.biz editor, will now take full control of day-to-day editorial issues, supported by deputy editor Alec Meer.
