GamesIndustry.biz Network surpasses 20,000 members

Trade site membership shows tremendous growth since moving to registration only

The GamesIndustry.biz Network has surpassed 20,000 members - one month after moving to a full registration system for content, in order to focus on a trade-only audience and support the industry more effectively.

"The industry's response to the implementation of full registration has been incredible - we believe it's the best possible validation of our ongoing aims for GamesIndustry.biz, and we're really excited about the developments we're going to be able to make as a result," said Phil Elliott, managing editor of GamesIndustry.biz.

"We've got lots more plans for the rest of this year, and we'd like to thank everybody that's taken the time to support and engage with us so far."

The Network is open to members of the trade, freelancers and students, with the latest data showing that over 2200 Network users are in management positions, more than 1100 in marketing and 370 in public relations. In development, more than 1430 are in programming positions, just under 1000 in design and more than 900 artists, 780 producers and 580 QA staff are using the site, amongst others.

New features and services are to be added to GamesIndustry.biz over the coming months, including an iPhone App for mobile users.
