Games Up? calls for strength in numbers
Campaign seeks online support as it hopes to convince the government to support the games industry
The Games Up? campaign has called for members of the games industry to visit its website and register their support by signing its petition.
The group, made up of a number of studios, ELSPA and Tiga, hopes to highlight the plight of the British videogames industry, fearing that it could face further decline despite a global boom.
According to Games Up? the threat to the region's industry comes from government subsidies overseas, skill shortages and rising costs.
"The campaign has made great strides so far. We urge as many companies as possible to sign the petition on the Games Up? website so we can all work together to influence government policy," said Richard Wilson, CEO of Tiga.
The official Games Up? website can be found here.
