Games Media Awards 2008

Steve Jarratt now officially a Games Media Legend sponsored by Atari.

The Games Media Awards 2008 host, Comedian Tom Stade, played to a full house at Camden’s Jongleurs Comedy Club, presenting ten awards for outstanding contribution and excellence in the specialist and mainstream media, relating to video games coverage.

The event, which also featured top stand-ups, Ricky Grover and Terry Alderton, was attended by 200 of the industry’s journalists and further 100 games publisher and PR professionals.

Voted for by MCV’s 11,000 industry readers and backed by Nintendo, Microsoft, EA, Activision and Codemasters, this year’s winners list reads as follows...

Last year’s Games Media Legend award winner, Gary Penn, presented this year’s trophy to Steve Jarratt, saying, “Steve qualifies as a Games Media Legend in every way imaginable. His career began at Newsfield on Commodore 64 magazine, Zzap!, and since then he has launched and edited some of the most influential and successful games magazines in the industry, including tonight’s award winning Edge Magazine, and the Official PlayStation Magazine.”
