GAMES INDUSTRY BIBLE: THE NEW TESTAMENT

Industry Weekly MCV Unveils Radical New Redesign

Friday 26 August 2005/... Games industry bible MCV will unveil its radical redesign next week, as publisher Intent Media prepares to usher in the next-generation of computers and games consoles with an equally formidable trade publication.

The redesign - to be unveiled at next week's Games Market Europe trade event at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London on 31st August and 1st September - boasts a new size, a fresh design and an editorial style which provides in-depth analysis and reportage on the industry issues of the moment.

Now seven years old, MCV delivers genuine retail influence and ABC-audited high circulation, plus huge additional reach across media, development, investment and international sectors.

MCV will continue to set the news agenda as only a weekly publication can. All the key features, such as extensive product information and recommendation, exclusive ChartTrack sales data and a commitment to weekly circulation in excess of 10,000 will remain.

But the magazine will now boast an amended format offering authoritative editorial and insight, with the gravitas that only print journalism allows.

New columnists from all sectors of the business will debate the issues of the day, providing insight, opinion and analysis impossible to obtain elsewhere. MCV's audience is also being expanded to target mainstream opinion-formers and journalists, giving the industry a credible trade voice like never before.

At the same time, MCV is launching a new website, supporting its daily email newsflashes, job marketplace and powerful international partnerships.

"The new look that arrives from next week has been built from a position of strength and an investment in resource," said publisher Stuart Dinsey. "This is a fast moving market that demands a weekly print title. MCV provides invaluable news, product updates, opinion and analysis.

"Our strength as a weekly has been proven by the success of the recently launched in-store poster chart. As the market evolves, so do we."
