Games Convention Online 2010
Trends and challenges in online games to be studied by Business Talks and Panels.
GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE (8 - 10 July, 2010)
Leipzig, 10 June 2010
Constantly changing trends dominate the up-and-coming online games industry unlike almost any other on the game sector. The specific developments that companies should expect and how they can profit from them is the central theme for the GCO Trends & Challenges Business Talks and Panels. Nils-Holger Henning, Chief Communications Officer at Bigpoint, will speak on Friday 9 July, firstly on trends in online gaming. Following on from that, he will be part of a panel discussing the challenges in online game development. The GCO is from 8 to 10 July at the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) in Leipzig.
The talk to be given by Nils-Holger Henning at this year's trade show GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE is headlined "Trends in a rapidly changing gaming world - how to successfully keep up with the speed." As well as analysing the main trends, he presents key strategies for the successful adaptation by the industry to these new developments. As someone who knows the industry, he sees a big advantage in the time needed for developing online games, for example. Unlike the PC and console branches, developers of browser games can react more quickly with new products as their response to trends.
"As one of the biggest gaming portals worldwide, we not only recognise gaming trends, we set them too. The GCO is the ideal business platform on which to discuss these changes and in the process, to help the industry to achieve even more growth," says Nils-Holger Henning.
Panel discussion with international industry experts
New and further development of browser games against the background of constant change is also the topic of the panel discussion with the title "Reinventing a broken wheel: online properties that re-launch successfully." Besides, Nils-Holger Henning, Dr. Pascal Zuta and Doki Tops will talk about their many years of experience in the online games sector. Since 2008, Dr. Pascal Zuta has been Managing Director of Aeria Games Europe, a fully owned subsidiary of the US-American online games publisher Aeria Games & Entertainment. In addition, Doki Tops, Managing Director of the Dutch 3D-online games developer Eximion, has extensive knowledge of the current challenges facing browser games producers.
The panel will be moderated by Sean Kauppinen, managing director of the US-American International Digital Entertainment Agency (IDEA). With more than 15 years of experience as a consultant in the interactive entertainment industry, he is known as an expert of the online games sector.
