Games Convention Online 2009

Registration opens for ModdingMasters 2009 contest.

GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE

(31 July - 2 August 2009)

Leipzig, 5 May 2009

The creative redesign of computers has long been known among gamers as high art. Whether converting series production cases, socalled casemods, or creating completely new PC cases, or casecons, the modellers can be as inventive as they like. The most innovative conversions and original creations of the year will be shown in the Casemodding@GCO exhibition at the GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE from 31 July to 2 August 2009. Visitors can look forward to viewing around 20 exhibits by well-known modders from all over Germany.

The exhibition is accompanied by the ModdingMasters 2009. Private modders have until 1 July 2009 to submit their ideas to the Leipziger Messe and take part in competition for the title of the best casemodder of the year. When all entries have been received, 15 entrants from each of the two categories casemods and casecons will be invited to the GCO to present their exhibits to the judges and the public. The competition winners will be announced on the casemodding stage at 15.00 on the Sunday of the show. Entry terms and conditions and registration for the ModdingMasters are now available on the website www.gcomm.de.

It is not just the practised modders who will value a look around the special exhibition. Several times a day, professional casemodders will demonstrate the basics for PC tuning and answer questions on technical and optical tricks. Throughout the entire weekend, the owners of the exhibits on show will also be on hand to explain the special features of their creations.

About the GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE

The GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE is Europe's first independent platform for what is currently the most dynamic market for the game industry: browswer, client and mobile games. From 31 July to 2 August, gaming providers from all over the world will be introducing themselves in Leipzig.

The concept for the trade show is based on two separate areas. At its heart, the Business Center offers qualified matchmaking for trade visitors. A dialogue conference is also integrated in its activities. Gamers come into their own in the public exhibition halls. As well as taking part in numerous events and attending show matches, they can try out the very latest online and mobile games. A range of presentation options will also be made available to gaming communities.

Editors please note: we are happy to provide pictures from the Casemodding@GCO special exhibition on request.
