A new report in the German mainstream press has outlined specific details regarding the location of Messe Leipzig's Games Convention for 2009.
According to Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung the show will be heading to Cologne from next year, and while the brand "Games Convention" belongs to Messe Leipzig, the newspaper claims that the company will license it for a fee of EUR 450,000 over three years.
The report also claims that there's general agreement among the "games industry" on the move, although there are no further details given, or quotes attributed.
A source told GamesIndustry.biz that a final decision on the event after 2008 was due any time now, and that such a move was possible, although no confirmation from Messe Leipzig was available at time of writing.
Last year's event pulled in record numbers, with over 200,000 people attending, but it's thought that moving the event to somewhere like Cologne will accommodate even more gamers.
