Site to scale back editorial and pile everything into digital distribution of games.

London, England - GamersUniverse.com has announced significant changes in its structure in order to focus its efforts on the rapidly growing digital distribution sector. The portal will now concentrate on its core services: Games on Demand and Digital Distribution. Editorial within the site will be scaled back through September, allowing the site to regroup its efforts within the distribution division.

“Most of our partners and affiliates around Europe, like Axel Springer, HyperTV, or RadioZET in Poland, Liberis Publications in Greece and many others, deliver information to gamers, and they are very good at it. We don’t want to compete with our partners, we want to work with them to promote digital distribution of multimedia content,” said Kostas Kimbouris, the company CEO.

“We are now building our Download-to-Own online games shop which will give us the opportunity to expand the services we offer to our partners and gamers in Europe. Our Download-to-Own shop will be an efficient state-of-the-art site giving users the ability to easily identify download and own a full game through their broadband connection,” Kimbouris continued. “We are also enlarging our presence in Europe by establishing an office in Madrid, Spain in order to pursue strategic goals in the Spanish Market in which we see a great opportunity,” he added.

Gamers E.E.S, the owner of the GamersUniverse.com portal, is also acquiring another company operating in the digital distribution business and specifically not in the gaming sector. The acquisition gives GamersUniverse.com an opportunity to extend its portfolio of digitally distributed services beyond games and increase revenues and profits. Details on the deal will follow shortly.
