Weinheim / Irvine, 2 September 2009
GamersFirst, a service from K2 Network and a leading Free2Play MMO publisher in the western hemisphere based in Irvine, California in the USA, impressed trade visitors at the gamescom 2009 in Cologne, Germany by presenting such coming game highlights as Parabellum, the exceptional Shooter from Acony, the German game developer from Villingen-Schwenningen.
The presentation of Parabellum, an MMO First Person Shooter that had been awaited with great suspense, gave a first taste of numerous new features:
In the Campaign Mode, which represents something completely new in the FPS genre, gamers compete with each other as members of the Counter-Terror Force team or as syndicate mercenaries. Achieving campaign objectives, for example disarming an atomic bomb, extends over the course of several maps. The route taken can be chosen dynamically depending on the opponent's game tactics.
Further highlights include adapting the game character outfit, with over 9 septillion possible combinations, and weapon modifications that provide for greater precision and variety during combat. Parabellum is going to start the Open Beta phase as of the end of September.
André Herbst, marketing director at Acony, comments:
"As anticipated, we are very glad that Parabellum met with such positive responses from visitors in the industry. Once the Open Beta starts in September, it's going to be equally important to us to receive feedback from the gamer community to enlarge the fascination revolving around Parabellum even more."
Game journalists were able to get a look at Victory - The Age Of Racing for the first time. The MMO racing game from the Italian developer Vae Victis stands out above all due to its advanced vehicle physics and numerous options for vehicle modification. Victory - The Age Of Racing will be available on the GamersFirst platform free of charge early in 2010. Fans of racing-car sports won't be the only ones who are going to be delighted.
Taikodom is yet another highlight from the GamersFirst portfolio. In this MMO Space Shooter, which will be released early in 2010, PC gamers place themselves in the role of valiant adventurers in outer space who explore unknown galaxies, fight epic wars and establish mighty trade empires.
Bryan Davies, public relations director at GamersFirst: "The gamescom was a complete success, not least of all because we were able to show that Free2Play titles also have what it takes to keep pace with the high demands placed on quality in games that charge fees."
