Fiona Cherbak Talks About Breaking Into the Games Biz in Philadelphia

Thursday, November 25---Fort Lauderdale, FL---GameRecruiter announced today that vice president of marketing Fiona Cherbak will be a featured speaker at next week's Breaking In: The Games Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Breaking In: The Games Conference will be held on Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4, located at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The event will coincide with the America's VideoGame Expo (VGXPO), a three-day videogame convention.
Cherbak, a recognized specialist in game industry careers who has worked with leading games companies,, will be speaking on the panel, "Breaking into the Game Industry." Moderated by Sam Christopher Erhardt, Vice President of Production and Professor at Digipen Institute of Technology, this discussion will offer tips and tricks from working veterans in the game industry on how to get into the business or transition from one development community to another.
Cherbak will also moderate the "Tales from the Trenches: Women Who Know" panel, presented by Women in Games International (WIGI). Female professionals in the games industry provide personal testimonials on their experiences and triumphs, from getting that first job to learning to be a leader. In this lively discussion, these women describe what it took for them to get in the door, establish winning business strategies and partnerships and build a lasting career in games.
WIGI panelists include Gano Haine, VP of Development for LimeLife; Jennifer MacLean, General Manager, Games for Comcast Interactive Media; Amber Dalton, PMS Clan Leader; and Susan Gold, Academic Coordinator at GarageGames and Chairperson, IGDA Education SIG.
