Gameloft signs Paris Hilton in multi-year licensing agreement
That's hot!
In a bid to increase its portfolio of casual and female-oriented games, as well as offering something for the male mobile audience, Paris-based wireless games publisher Gameloft has announced the signing of a multi-year licensing partnership with Paris Hilton Entertainment.
Under the terms of the agreement, Gameloft will develop, publish and distribute a series of mobile games based on, and featuring the likeness of Miss Hilton - multi-million dollar heiress and pop culture icon.
The first title in the series is scheduled for release worldwide this summer, and will be aimed at the tweens/teens age-group of Paris Hilton fans, although no further information on the content or style of the game have been released to date.
Gameloft has promised numerous additional titles to maximise the possibilities afforded to them by their latest signing, targeting both male and female fans and adding a touch more diversity to the company's existing portfolio of both original and branded IP.
Michel Guillemot, Gameloft president, commented: "Gameloft is dedicated to increasing mobile game offerings to female and casual gamers and we are thrilled to have Paris Hilton on board. She is a model, a fashionista, an actress, an entrepreneur and a pop culture force of nature whose appeal is recognized the world over."
"Mobile games based on such a significant personality as Paris Hilton will be an excellent addition to our diverse slate of games," added Guillemot. "She is a universal brand that surpasses all boundaries."
Clearly thrilled to be a part of the whole experience, Miss Hilton added: "I'm excited to collaborate with Gameloft to bring the Paris Hilton brand and the glamour of young Hollywood to the cell phones of all my fans around the world. My phone has become an all in one entertainment device and mobile games are an integral part of that. Mobile gaming is really hot right now and I'm excited to be part of this project."
