GameCityNights

Machinarium creator to detail new projects and movie at game culture evening.

16/03/2011: GameCity, the world’s best loved videogames festival, today announced the details of the next GameCityNights, the late night exploration of videogames culture. GameCityNights Season 2 Episode 3 will be headlined by Jakub Dvorský and will take place on March 25th at Antenna, Beck Street, NG1 1EQ, from 6pm. Entry is strictly 18+. For details on how to book tickets, see below.

Amanita Design founder and multi-media artist Jakub Dvorský will offer

attendees the world premiere of his two latest projects, as well as a behind-

the-scenes look at upcoming film, Kooky.

Designer of the seminal Machinarium, Samorost and other acclaimed titles,

Dvorský will kick off the Night at 6pm with the GameCityNights’ Frontend, an honest and open look at his work, offering candid advice based on his experience of working in the creative industries.

From 8pm, Dvorský will unleash a torrent of news with the exclusive world

premieres of TWO brand new titles, as well as offering fans an in-depth look

at his contribution to upcoming stop-motion film, Kooky.

GameCity Director Iain Simons said, “That Jakub is gracing us with not one,

but two world premieres, is phenomenal – and possibly alarming. Given the quality of his previous work, these announcements look set to introduce us to some absolute must-have titles. Plus, there’ll be news about Kooky, and everyone loves puppets.”

Continuing a fan favourite Nights tradition, ‘From the Desk of…’ will return to

quiz a well-known name within the videogame industry via the wonders of

Skype. This month sees videogame inspired graphic designer Cory Schmitz

dissecting his work, discuss Kickstarter funding and a host of other topics.

To help celebrate the launch, and for those struggling with the life-changing question of which 3DS launch title to buy, fans will get the chance to enjoy eleven titles throughout the night, including Pilotwings, Pro Evo Soccer, Super Street Fighter IV, Ridge Racer, Super Monkey Ball and more.

As ever, GameCityNights will also feature the very best indie developers showcasing their work alongside the latest AAA titles, comedian Paul Butler’s Augmented Vision, A Winner Is You prize competition with contributions from Capcom, an impassioned My Game appearance and a full bar to round out the night.

GameCityNights run on the last Friday of every month at Antenna in

Nottingham, Beck Street, NG1 1EQ. Entry is strictly 18+ only, tickets £5 in

advance and for students, £6 on the door for the general public. Due to limited

capacity, pre-booking is advised. To do so, please go to www.gamecity.org for

details.

To book space to discuss your favourite game with My Game or demo your

work on the preview screens, email GameCity PR Coordinator, Chris White, chris@gamecity.org
