LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule to "deliver vision statement" at November's event in Nottingham.
15th September 2008. Nottingham, UK. We are delighted to be able to announce that the brilliant MEDIA MOLECULE, acclaimed developer of Playstation 3 title, LittleBigPlanet will be delivering the Vision Statement supported by BAFTA at this year's GameCity festival.
Established in 2006 at the inaugural GameCity festival, the Vision Statement event is a platform for uniquely personal, creative perspectives from within the videogame industry. In 2006, Lorne Lanning gave an incisive and enormously well-received speech, detailing his perspective on the potential of videogames before announcing his new Hollywood movie 'Citizen Siege'. This was followed in 2007, when Keita Takahashi shared his unique creative vision for Noby Noby Boy with the world.
"We're deeply excited that Media Molecule have agreed to deliver this years headline. The Vision statement was conceived as an event that delivers a unique insight from the most innovative voices in the industry, so having the creators of LittleBigPlanet here reinforces that reputation hugely", commented GameCity director Iain Simons.
In the wake of the global release of LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule will be reflecting on what it feels like to have created and shipped one of the most anticipated titles of this generation to the audience within the Gatecrasher venue. This is a truly rare opportunity for the public to meet with the developer just weeks after having shipped this
most important title.
"The first GameCity festival was actually Media Molecule's very first public appearance, so we're thrilled to be able to return now having shipped LittleBigPlanet", said Alex Evens of Media Molecule. "For us, GameCity is a rare opportunity to really interact and meet with the people who play - and in LBP's case, help to create our games."
Tim Hunter, Acting Head of Learning and Events at BAFTA commented, "BAFTA delivers a UK-wide programme of events where the public can hear from the inspiring innovators behind their favourite games, TV shows and films. We're therefore delighted to be working with Gamecity for the third year on this fantastic event which gives the players the chance to peek inside the brains of these exciting games developers."
Supported by BAFTA, the Vision Statement will be delivered at 2pm on Saturday November 1st at GameCity 3. Book NOW at www.gamecity.org
