GameChanger
IGN's search for presenting and writing talent continues.
13/01/11 – IGN - the UK’s largest video games and entertainment network, has revealed that winners of Game Changer – its ongoing search for undiscovered presenting and writing talent, will help cover the 2011 BAFTA Video Game Awards for gamers around the world.
IGN’s Game Changer is the ultimate chance for aspiring presenters and writers across the UK to get noticed by the film and game industries, gaining valuable experience with IGN. Game Changer is the ultimate chance to promote your skills in front of almost 4m readers across the UK every month, and millions more globally.
So, if you’ve dreamt about becoming a red carpet reporter, or think gamers should be reading your blog, leading experts from the world of games and movies will join IGN’s team in judging Game Changer – offering valuable career guidance and no-nonsense advice to all finalists.
The winners will take a central role in IGN’s unrivalled coverage of the Game British Academy Video Game Awards, as part of IGN’s year-long online promotional partnership with BAFTA. More exciting assignments for winners will be announced shortly – meaning you could be rubbing shoulders with gaming royalty and some big name celebs at major events.
If you’ve not already entered Game Changer, there’s still time, as the closing date for submissions is Monday, 31st January. If you want to try your hand at presenting, we need you to submit an original video clip of yourself, no longer than 30 seconds, telling us what your favourite movie or game is and why. Film it however you want – on phone, camcorder or webcam, and you’ll be judged on your talents, not your technical know-how.
To entertain the writing competition, please send us an original written piece, no more than 250 words, discussing your favourite movie or game. Don’t worry about the format – it can be anything from a review to a feature – we’ll be assessing your writing skills.
