GAME Unveiled As The Official Launch Partner For The Nintendo DS Lite
20th June 2006 - GAME Stores Group Ltd, the UK's
leading video games retailer, have confirmed that they are
the official launch partner for the Nintendo DS Lite console,
when it launches on Friday 23rd June 2006. Their flagship
Oxford Street store and Hamley's concession will be
specifically dedicated to the launch to sell the very first
units of the highly anticipated Nintendo DS Lite.
Nintendo and GAME are expecting hundreds of customers who
have pre-ordered their DS Lite's to queue up to collect them
in the morning, so keen they are to start experiencing the
new lighter and brighter console. To help get them in the
party mood, both stores will be working with Nintendo to
produce a launch spectacular with goody bags, competitions,
and plenty of demonstration DS Lite units. They'll also be
giving away a free game to the first 75 Oxford Street
customers who buy a DS Lite on the day!
GAME in Hamley's will also be giving away a DS Lite console
and a copy of the newly released Brain Training every hour to
the person with the lowest brain age.*
Robert Quinn, Sales Director at GAME said "We are
anticipating huge crowds of customers will come to our stores
to get their hands on their DS Lite at the first possible
moment. The console has been hotly anticipated by thousands
of customers who have reserved this console for weeks in
advance and we are working flat out to make sure customers
get the products they want first."
GAME will continue to accept deposit (£20) pre-orders until
stores close on the Thursday evening. For more details on the
launch day, as well as GAME's policies, information on all
consoles - including the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, PSP,
Nintendo DS, and all the latest software, and accessories
please speak to a member of staff in-store.
