Game Republic Scores Another Success; Yorkshire Firm Tackles Super League
Creative North commissioned to develop Official Rugby Super League Mobile Game
Monday 14 November 2005/... Creative North, the leading Yorkshire-based computer games company today announced it has been selected from a scrum of contenders to tackle The Official Rugby Super League mobile phone game.
The deal, which has been exclusively handed-off to Huddersfield-based developer and designer of mobile games Creative North, means the digital likeness of all top Super League players will appear in the game which goes on sale at the end of November. Creative North is an active member of Game Republic - the trade alliance formed to further excellence in video games development within the Yorkshire and Humber regions.
The Rugby Super League game boasts an official license, 50-team roster, all club logos, team colours and up-to-date player details are being drop kicked into place as well. All players are accurately represented, as are full tournament- and season modes.
Simultaneously launched with Alternative Software's own PlayStation 2 version of Super League Rugby League 2, Rugby Super League features all twelve Super League teams in the top division, including Huddersfield Giants, Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos. And from a graphics perspective, Rugby Super League is set to rival anything on mobile phones to date.
"We're thrilled to have been commissioned with such an established and respected publisher as Alternative Software, on a game that has become a must-have title among console-playing Rugby League fans," said Phil Mundy, Managing Director, Creative North. "When Alternative Software approached us to develop Rugby Super League for mobile, the opportunity to deliver a fully licensed product was too good an opportunity to miss."
Roger Hulley, Managing Director, Alternative Software added: "We've been looking for a developer with a proven track record in quickly delivering top quality products and when Game Republic pointed us in the direction of Creative North, it soon became obvious that Phil Mundy and the team sport all the credentials necessary to deliver the kind of official Rugby Super League game mobile phone users deserve."
The Official Rugby Super League mobile phone game will be released on mobile phone towards the end of November.
