The organisers of Game On, the videogaming exhibition currently being held at London's Science Museum, have announced details of a new series of lectures which will begin this week.

The first talk, 'Dancemats and Joysticks: Who's playing now?', will be delivered by Nicolas Rodriguez of Kuju Studios on Wednesday November. He will discuss peripherals such as buzzers, microphones and cameras and the ways they are changing gaming.
On Monday November 13 Eidos's Ian Livingstone will deliver a presentation titled 'Ten Years of Lara', focusing at the history of Tomb Raider and what's next for the series.
Elite creator David Braben will speak on Monday November 20, will look at gaming history over the past 20 - 30 years in 'Gaming: Now and Then'. He will also discuss his experiences of developing newer titles such as The Outsider.
And finally, on Tuesday November 28, Professor Mark Griffiths of Nottingham Trent University will give his speech, 'Gaming in Mind'. He will address the question of whether games can be addictive and whether they can make players violent.
"It is very exciting to see how important gaming has become when the cultural and technological developments are so hotly debated and discussed," said event organiser Gaetan Lee.
"The special events presented here at the Science Museum will give people a unique opportunity to look at these developments and how gaming has really come of age."
All of the talks will begin at 7pm and last for 45 minutes, with the opportunity to ask the speaker questions at the end. The opening hours for the Game On exhibition will be specially extended on the days of the talks to 9pm. Tickets cost GBP 7 per lecture, or GBP 11 for entrance to both the lecture and exhibition.
