Game Frontier is pleased to announce Channel 4 coverage of ESWC UK Finals.

Leeds - United Kingdom - 17/05/06

Game Frontier is pleased to announce that it has secured further media coverage for this years ESWC UK qualifiers and finals events from Channel 4 one of the UK's main terrestrial TV channels.

Channel 4 will be filming for a documentary called "Spare Time" that is due to be aired this summer. The director of the show Neil Crombie had this to say:

'We're making a documentary for Channel 4 called Spare Time, which is all about how people in Britain spend their leisure time and how that's changing. The rise of computer gaming and online entertainments of all sorts is obviously a big part of that story. I'm looking forward to filming at the ESWC heats because it'll be a great opportunity to meet and talk to people who are really at the cutting edge of this new leisure landscape. I'm hoping to give viewers a sense of some of the new possibilities which are opening up for how we might be spending our spare time in the future.'

Jaffer Mir, Managing director of Game Frontier added "This further commitment clearly demonstrates the progression that electronic sports is making in the main stream media and in society in general. It is a great opportunity for gamers to show off their skills and raise their credibility."

The ESWC UK Finals take place 26th - 29th May in Bristol. (www.eswc.co.uk)
