Game Connection Europe 2010

GamesIndustry.biz partnership shaken upon.

LYON, FRANCE— 25 October 2010 – The deal is on, between Game Connection, the leading games industry trade show, and the market-leading videogames business news and community website GamesIndustry.biz.

Game Connection Europe 2010 will bring together games companies (including developers, publishers, middleware businesses and more) which will be seeking to sell, buy, pitch or invest in games. The event is the most time-efficient way to meet a multitude of potential business partners during a series of short meetings.

New event features have been added this year, including Selected Projects, a new contest taking place on November 16 which will see 20 games compete for the attention of industry experts - including GamesIndustry.biz Publisher Phil Elliott, as well as other key figures from the world of publishing and distribution.

The games - which will be in varying degrees of development - will cover the console, mobile and online games market, and the panel will vote for the best indie project to be signed in the next 12 months.

Those 20 nominees will also have the opportunity to pitch their games under development to an assembly of publishers, distributors and other VIPs. Only one of them will be picked up by the audience as ‘the most anticipated and innovative’ game.

Pierre Carde, CEO of Connection Events, said: " We are proud to be partnering with GamesIndustry.biz, one of the most trusted news source out there for professionals. Their experience in the videogames sector and their media input will be a real bonus when deciding on the best game demos."

And Phil Elliott, Publisher of GamesIndustry.biz, added: " We're thrilled to be working with the Game Connection team once again. I'm really looking forward to seeing the 20 games, some of which will hopefully become benchmark titles of the future. It’s a great expansion for Game Connection, which has proven itself as one of the most important industry business events for developers and publishers on the European calendar."
