Game Connection confirmed for GDC event

Attendees at the forthcoming Game Developers Conference in March will once again be afforded the opportunity to arrange one-on-one developer/publisher meetings through the Game Connection networking event.

Attendees at the forthcoming Game Developers Conference in March will once again be afforded the opportunity to arrange one-on-one developer/publisher meetings through the Game Connection networking event.

Organised by Lyon Game, the Game Connection event allows registered developers to pre-arrange meetings with publishers via an online scheduler. The online meeting system allows publishers to search for developers and projects based on their own specific needs, either by genre, budget, development stage or hardware platform. Once relevant developers have been selected, the meetings are scheduled automatically.

The event is designed to allow developers to demonstrate products and applications to interested publishers in the privacy of a quiet booth, away from the noise and bustle of the Game Developers Conference.

The 2005 event, also part of the GDC, brought 42 publishers directly to independent developers and the recent Game Connection event in Lyon, France, more than doubled that figure, facilitating over 3,500 meetings between 86 publishers and developers. Organisers are expecting a record attendance for the 2006 event, which will take place at the Fairmont Hotel, San Jose on March 20th and 21st.

Registration for the event is now open, and the organisers have stressed that the deadline for interested parties to register and arrange meetings online closes on February 16th.
