FUSE 07 Thrills Gamers And Music Fans
SECOND SUCCESSFUL OUTING FOR UNIQUE GAMES AND MUSIC FUSION EVENT
December 3rd 2007 - FUSE 07, the cutting-edge rock and gaming fusion event announced today a second hugely successful year after nearly two thousand rapturous fans packed into this year's event at London's famous Shepherds Bush Empire on November 2nd.
The crowd were treated to the final of the Ubisoft Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Vegas Battle of the Clans, the culmination of a tournament which has seen the best competitive multiplayer gamers from across the UK competing for the right to take the stage at FUSE 07. Relentless Limitz Clan Captain Gary Trouve led his team to victory as they were crowned champions. The clan, made up of gamers from as far afield as Essex and Burton-upon-Trent, were presented with a cheque for £1000 and an array of prizes from Ubisoft®, one of the world's biggest videogames publishers.
"The whole FUSE experience was something new to our team" said Gary "It was an honour to play a game we have dedicated a lot of our time to at such as great stage, and along side some fantastic bands. Winning was just the cherry on the cake!"
The night also played host to a thrilling face off between the country's best unsigned rock bands, as they competed for a record deal with the UK's biggest independent rock label Visible Noise in the Gibson Battle of the Bands competition. Lioness from Weybridge, Cornwall fought off stiff competition and secured the much-coveted deal and additional prizes of videogames consoles and three Epiphone guitars.
Singer Danny said afterwards "The Fuse Uploaded event was one of the biggest things we have been a part of and to be playing on a stage where bands like Radiohead, Amy Winehouse and Muse have played is just awesome. Every one of us is genuinely so grateful for the opportunity FUSE has given us; we know how difficult it is to get a break in the music industry. The whole day was amazing"
"This year's event has proved that FUSE is quickly gaining a reputation as a unique and exciting date in the gaming and music calendar." said Phil Brannelly, UK Brand Manager at Ubisoft. "We're thrilled at the attendance this year. We'd like to thank the fans for their endless enthusiasm and we look forward to seeing them again next year."
