Funcom reports $13m Q2 earnings
Age of Conan developer owes much of the income to its hit MMO
Funcom has reported that its revenues in the second quarter of 2008 are USD 13.01 million, approximately USD 1 million better than previously guidance indicated, due to higher-than-expected box revenues brought in by Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures.
The publisher's operating profit for the second quarter was reported as a loss of USD 5.73 million, an increase upon the loss of USD 1.46 million last year, due to costs associated with the Age of Conan launch. After tax earnings were also recorded as a loss of USD 7.191 million down from USD 776,000 year-on-year.
Predicted revenue for the third quarter of 2008 is expected to be between USD 16-20 million, with the majority of income coming from subscription revenues for the Age of Conan.
