FTC issues second anti-competitive inquiry to EA
Publisher has yet to allay US government's fears over bid for Take-Two
Electronic Arts has received a second request from the US Federal Trade Commission related to its takeover bid for rival publisher Take-Two.
The publisher, in a statement, insisted that the proposed takeover wouldn't compromise competition in the industry.
However, the Federal Trade Commission has yet to sign off on the USD 2 billion takeover and said it needs more information before reaching a decision.
Meanwhile, the deadline for Take-Two to accept EA's terms is rapidly approaching - the offer expires on April 18 at 11:59pm EDT. However, EA has said that it could extend the offer depending upon the outcome of Take-Two stockholder meeting scheduled for this afternoon.
