Final Zavvi stores to close
Remaining branches to cease operations on February 20, resulting in 446 further job losses
Ernst & Young has announced that it is set to close all remaining Zavvi stores by February 20, resulting in a loss of 446 jobs.
Following the sale of all remaining stock, trading at the remaining Zavvi branches will now cease. The administrator had tried to find a buyer for the company, which fell into administration following the collapse of EUK and Woolworths.
"I would like to thank all of Zavvi's staff and customers for their commitment and continued support for the business throughout the administration," said Tom Jack, joint administrator.
Zavvi was hit hard by the descent of its supplier EUK, which disrupted pre-Christmas sales and lead to the suspension of trading on the retailer's website. The issue was compounded when EUK demanded the repayment of all outstanding debt, forcing Zavvi into administration.
