Final call for tables at The Golden Joystick Awards 2005!

The countdown is on as gamers have their say on the titles that matter

03/10/05 - With UK gamers furiously voting on the recently revealed shortlists - Future has announced that The Golden Joystick Awards 2005, in association with The Carphone Warehouse look set to the biggest in the 23 year history of the event. Heading towards sell-out status, there are only a limited number of tables still available for the world's longest-running gaming awards ceremony.

Held this year at the London Hilton, Park Lane on Friday, 4th November - The Golden Joystick Awards 2005 will be hosted by talented comic and TV personality, Jimmy Carr. With more than 700 industry guests in attendance, the celebrations will continue at the infamous Golden Joysticks' after show party - presented by Joystick Junkies.

Consumer PR and brand consultancy Kazoo are working with Future to make The Golden Joystick Awards 2005 the best yet. Beating last year's 200,000 votes will be no easy task, but the 2005 event has already attracted a considerable list of media partners - helping to build awareness outside of the games press and boost votes. This year's event will be covered by The Sun, Sun Online, Nuts Magazine, TMF's new TV show Game One and Colin and Edith on BBC Radio One.

Media partners will be offering chances to win exclusive money can't buy VIP seats at the awards ceremony and after show party, as well as themed prize packages - including console bundles and signed gaming merchandise.

James Ashton is Publisher of Future's London games portfolio:

"Table sales for this year's Golden Joystick Awards have been brisk and we only have a few left, despite moving the event to a bigger venue. Winning or being nominated for a Golden Joystick is a real honour and no other ceremony gives UK gamers the chance to directly influence who wins a gong.

"I'm delighted that Jimmy Carr has signed up to present the awards this year - he will help make this an unforgettable day. With more high-profile media partners than ever before, everyone will be doing their bit to raise the profile of The Golden Joystick Awards and video gaming to a huge audience."
