FIFA 12 dominates Xmas domestic charts

Football giant top for two weeks over festive period with MW3 holding second

FIFA 12 was the number one selling game in the UK for the weeks ending 24 and 31 December, according to retail sales monitor GFK Chart Track.

The final week of the year was the fourth one in which FIFA had occupied the top spot, holding off a rash of other sequels in the form of Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Just Dance 3, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Saints Row: The Third, Need for Speed: The Run, Skyrim, Forza 4 and Mario Kart 7.

EA's MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic made a top ten entry during its release week, highlighting a seemingly successful launch period.
