Puzzle Lab Unveils Version 1.12 of "Charm Tale"
For immediate release
September 27, 2005
From the creators of "Fiber Twig 2", one of the most talked about digital diversions this summer, comes a new version of "Charm Tale". This is a wonderfully crafted fantasy adventure that combines puzzle-solving, collection, and exploration. "Charm Tale" takes you on a fantasy adventure to Fairyland, the once idyllic kingdom, where the evil spell tainted the beautiful landscape and turned its inhabitants into frozen figures. You assume the role of the Traveler, who has been chosen to break the spell, and return Fairyland to light. To overcome evil power, you must disenchant frozen figures covered by mosaic with the help of sparkling crystals.
At the start of the adventure, you go through a five-stage scene that serves as a fun way to learn the game. The challenge of the game is to keep pace with the crystals, running down the string to the magic chameleon. Use a mouse to pick up a crystal, rotate, and put it into the mosaic, made up of variously-shaped patterns. If the crystal fits the shape, both fade away, uncovering an enchanted character. And this character may be a blue-eyed girl, riding a snail, a playful dolphin, or a mighty sea lord, to name a few. While enjoying all this match-and-uncover intrigue, don't forget to keep an eye on the string. If a crystal reaches the chameleon, the game is over, and you have to start again. At the last moment, you can make use of several rescue tricks. For example, you can throw a useless crystal to the Drop Portal, click on a Spider bonus to drop the crystals off the string, or click on the Sand-Glass to pause the string for a while.
But there is even more to the game's appeal than solving tricky puzzles, and uncovering the image behind the mosaic. "Charm Tale" is a visual masterpiece. The artists from Puzzle Lab spent countless months, patiently breathing life into this watercolor fantasy. You will discover superbly detailed environments, graceful characters and bizarre fairy tale creatures. With its good taste and huge range of inspiration, the game's graphics perfectly complement the fantasy story line. Along with graphical artistry, "Charm Tale" features author's music, specially written and recorded for this game. Subtle, slow-paced tunes quickly immerse you into the fantasy
atmosphere of the game and accompany you, as you traverse the paths of Fairyland.
