Fallen Earth
Post-apocalyptic MMOG's release date pushed to September 15th to allow further tweaking.
The Fallen Earth team has decided to move the launch date for the upcoming post-apocalyptic MMO to September 15, 2009, to continue work on server and client optimizations as well as graphic improvements.
"We've seen a lot of new beta testers online recently and we've gotten insight into things that need to be tweaked," said Colin Dwan, project manager for Fallen Earth. "Our primary concern is making sure game play experience is as smooth as possible on launch day."
Planned optimizations and graphic improvements on Fallen Earth will not delay current testers in the Open Beta experience. Fans who have pre-ordered the game will be able to gain early access to the game beginning September 9.
Currently in development, Fallen Earth is a post-apocalyptic MMO set near the Grand Canyon in 2156. Hybridizing the accuracy of first person shooter with the character advancement of role-playing games, Fallen Earth features six factions, a classless advancement system and a powerful crafting system in which players can make 95 percent of in game items. With 1000 square kilometers of explorable territory, Fallen Earth has more than 5,500 missions and conquerable towns.
