Fable Fortunes closes Kickstarter in favour of private funding

Undisclosed sources to bring ex-Lionhead's card game to life

The ex-Lionhead developers at Flaming Fowl Studios, which is working on a Fable-inspired digital card title called Fable Fortune, has closed the Kickstarter campaign for the game after it secured private funding instead.

The game had raised $86,321 from a total of $366,685 and was due to end on June 28th. However, a team update to the campaign page has indicated that the game is now fully funded by other, unspecified means.

"Thanks to your enthusiasm and support, we are happy to announce that we've successfully secured additional development funding," the update reads. "This, alongside our ongoing personal investment, will mean that we can continue to improve the game and allow even more of you to start playing.

"With the immediate future of Fable Fortune now secure, we have taken the decision to end our Kickstarter campaign early to focus on releasing a Closed Beta build as quickly as possible. As we've always stated, we want to make this game with your help, your feedback and your input. We have huge plans for Fortune and we know that whatever happens in the future, it all started with our already incredible community."

Fable Fortunes is currently in alpha, with a public beta planned soon.
