F1 2010 knocks Halo: Reach from top of UK chart

Racing simulator sells more than Reach and Dead Rising 2 combined in opening week

Codemasters' racing simulator F1 2010 has knocked Halo: Reach into second spot in the UK charts, selling more last week than both Bungie's Xbox 360 exclusive and Capcom's latest, Dead Rising 2, combined.

Halo: Reach saw an 80 per cent drop in sales last week, indicating a rush of sales to gamers who saw it as a day-one purchase. 2K's Civilization V joined Dead Rising 2 and F1 2010 as the third new entry in the top four, jumping straight in at four as one of two PC-only releases in the chart.

Last week's number two game, Sony's Move-enabled Sports Champions, dropped down to fifth, with Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock debuting at sixth.

Square-Enix's Final Fantasy XIV takes tenth spot in the chart, despite only having been released as a PC special edition last week, with the regular PC edition coming this week. The PS3 version of the MMO is due in March, 2011.
