Exit Games iPad support
Neutron and Photon now compatible with Apple's latest gadget.
Monday, March 1st 2010: Exit Games, the leading provider of online game engines and services further expands its platform support by adding Apple iPad compatibility to its products Neutron and Photon. The iPad addition completes the wide range of gaming platforms such as PC, Mac, browser or mobile devices, including iPhone and Android, supported by Exit Games Photon and Neutron. Together with the company’s latest price reduction both products form a compelling offer to developers to add online gaming features to their applications.
While Neutron is a managed service with a wide range of turn-key features, Photon is a multiplayer development framework obtainable as licensed software starting at US$100. Both products come with SDKs for Unity3D, Flash, iPhone, Android, Silverlight, .NET, Windows, J2SE & J2ME, Brew and now the iPad. Pricing information and fully functional trial licenses can be found at the company’s website www.exitgames.com, while state of the art reference projects such as the golf simulation “World Golf Tour” ( www.wgt.com) and Facebook application “Paradise Paintball” by Cmune ( www.cmune.com) are available to be played online.
Exit Games products help publishers and game developers to minimize risk and time-to-market for even the most complex multiplayer and community game development projects on various gaming platforms. While the managed service (Neutron) provides a broad variety of connectivity features out-of-the-box as well as world-class hosting services, Photon is the perfect product to enable game developers to integrate sophisticated online features at minimum cost investment.
“We are very happy to be the first company offering online game engines for the iPad,” said Chris Wegmann, CTO of Exit Games. “The iPad opens a fascinating new product genre and we are sure it provides the same opportunities for developers as the iPhone did and still does. Our products will help developers to take advantage of this new opportunity at lower risk and with a faster time-to-market.”
Exit Games will be exhibiting at the Game Developers Conference, held in San Francisco between March 9 – March 13, 2010. A demo of the Photon and Neutron features will be showcased at Exit Games' booth located in the German Pavilion (booth #802). Exit Games will also host a prize draw for visitors to its booth where winners will receive one of 10 "Photon Indie" licenses (with a value of $100 USD each) and one of three "Photon 500" licenses (with a value of $1,250 each).
