Exhibitor applications open for China Joy
Three exhibitions and four conferences as part of 2015's Shanghai show
China's leading gaming show is vast. In fact, the China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference (thankfully shortened to China Joy) is actually three exhibitions and four conferences all taking place over the course of four days, covering every aspect of the world's largest and most rapidly evolving gaming market. The event takes place in Shanghai from July 30 to August 1st. GamesIndustry.biz will be a formal media partner for this year's shows, covering the biggest news and interviews from one of the world's biggest BtoC and BtoB industry festivals.
The first event at the show is the Next Gen Arcade, Console and Home Entertainment Expo, a new angle which will be capitalising on the relaxation of Chinese import laws which have resulted in the recent launches of the PS4 and Xbox One in the country. As well as home consoles, the show will cover handhelds, PC and arcade machines, with exhibitors from across the hardware sector including Microsoft, Sony, Intel, AMD, Nvidia, and Lenovo. In addition to the hardware itself, the show will address issues on distribution, publishing and manufacturing.
The China Game Business Conference and Digital Entertainment Congress is a more established event, having been part of China Joy's offering since its very first year. Firmly focused on the subject of how to do business in China, and with whom, this year the event retains its focus on international IP co-operation, community ethics and the business of digital entertainment, featuring speakers from Tencent, Perfect World, Netease, Shanda and many more.
The China Game Developers Conference is for people on the front line of development. Embracing China's burgeoning indie scene and bringing together talent from around the world to share information and techniques, CGDC also attracts speakers from TV, physical games, middleware and mass media to offer over 100 presentations on topics across the entire development spectrum.
The World Mobile Gaming Conference and Expo is, as you'd expect, all about what many see as the area offering the biggest opportunities within the Chinese market. Every major mobile player from the region will be represented across both the expo show floor and the conference talks, as well as the biggest figures from the international mobile industry. Everything you need to know about the mobile market in China, under one roof.
Finally, there's the main consumer and business show floors themselves. Attracting over 250,000 visitors, including 9,000 press, China Joy features over 550 companies exhibiting more than 1600 products. There's a 3000 metre square area dedicated to eSports, a huge sales area and countless opportunities to engage with the local audience. Organisers Howell estimate that over $200 million of business transactions took place at last year's show alone.
We'll be there to report on every aspect of the show as it happens, but if you're looking to attend either as a visitor or an exhibitor, then download the application here
Full Disclosure: As part of the partnership, Howell will fly a member of GamesIndustry.biz staff to Shanghai for the event and secure them accommodation and entrance to the show.
