ESL Pro Series UK Finals

British champions crowned.

Cologne, 14th of July, 2009 – The Electronic Sports League (ESL) successfully organised the second finals of the ESL Pro Series, the premier league of competitive computer gaming. On Saturday the 4th of July the best four teams in Counter-Strike: Source and Call of Duty 4 as well as the four best gamers in Quake III Arena and Trackmania Nations Forever competed for the championship title and a £30,000 of prize fund. Over weeks leading up to the event, competitors gave their best to qualify for the final event in July.

Hundreds of fans saw exciting matches in the Congress Centre in Londons West End. Over 15,000 people were following the live coverage of the IPTV channel ESL TV.

The overall standings are as follows:

Counter-Strike:Source:

1st: CrackClan (£5,000)

2nd: Team Dignitas (£2,000)

3rd: Andys Vent (£1,000)

4th: FragMasters TOXIC (£400)

Call of Duty 4:

1st: Team Darkstyle (£4,000)

2nd: Team Dignitas (£1,600)

3rd: Button Bashers (£800)

4th: Reason Gaming (£300)

Quake III Arena:

1st: GaRpY (£1,000)

2nd: HELL (£450)

3rd: kRonic (£250)

4th: ddk (£140)

Trackmania Nations Forever:

1st: darkY (£1,000)

2nd: StevieM (£450)

3rd: HotSwat (£250)

4th: pHO (No show)
