Escalation Studios joins Bethesda Game Studios
Dallas-based Zenimax subsidiary becomes part of sister studio's operation, has been working on Fallout 76 and Starfield
Escalation Studios is now Bethesda Game Studios Dallas. In kicking off QuakeCon 2018 today, Bethesda announced that the Dallas-based studio which had been acquired by its parent company ZeniMax in 2016 has since been folded into the Bethesda Game Studios organization.
"We've been working with Tom, Marc, and the team at Escalation for a long time," Bethesda Game Studios director and executive producer Todd Howard said. "They've already delivered amazing games with us, and we knew we could do even bigger things together. It's an incredible team in Dallas and they're already contributing to key parts of Fallout 76 and Starfield."
Escalation's previous work for Bethesda has included contributions to the VR versions of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4, as well as work on the SnapMap editor from 2016's Doom reboot. The studio was first set up in 2007, and prior to its acquisition, had worked on games like Please Don't Touch Anything 3D, NCAA March Madness VR and Herobound: Gladiators.
