Emergent Game Technologies has selected the Game Developers Conference to announce the launch of the Gamebryo 2.2 game engine, which includes a number of tools optimised for next-generation game development.
A standalone solution for complex videogame creation, Gamebryo was most recently used by Bethesda Softworks for the creation of its PC and Xbox 360 title, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which is currently the subject of tremendous critical acclaim.
The new 2.2 version is fully optimised for development on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and is also available as part of Emergent Elements - a family of tools designed to address the complete range of game development challenges.
Included in the new version is a Scene Designer, which enables developers to quickly create new worlds from discreet assets, easily place objects and lights in a scene and assign a range of features and attributes to objects within the game. Additionally, Gamebryo has been optimised to include the integration of AGEIA's new PhysX physics solution for realistic in-game physics.
