ELSPA appoints PSA as lobby group

The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) has confirmed that PSA public affairs has been appointed to assist with UK government and parliamentary lobbying.

PSA will work closely with Barrington Harvey, ELSPA's lead agency, to design and develop public affairs strategies. They will look at key issues such as age rating, codes of practice, piracy and education, and highlight the essential contribution made by the games industry to the British economy - a net balace of £280 million last year.

"Following the events of last year it became apparent that an industry of our size and scale required on-site representation in the corridors of power," said ELSPA director general Roger Bennett.

"PSA has a wealth of experience and specialist knowledge which will prove invaluable for ELSPA's future lobbying."

Phillip Snape, director of PSA, added: "We look forward to working with ELSPA to increase the influence of software games publishers within both government and the wider political stakeholder base."
