ELSPA Announces New Chairman

Andy Payne takes the helm of UK games industry body

Friday 22 July 2005/... ELSPA, the collective identity of the UK computer and video games industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairman of its board. Andy Payne, head of Mastertronic and Just Flight, was voted in as Chairman at the Annual General Meeting this week, replacing retiring Chairman Scott Dodkins, who was recently appointed European managing director at Eidos.

ELSPA also confirmed David Yarnton, Nintendo, as vice-chariman and welcomed Mike Hayes of Sega and Serhad Koro of Take 2 Interactive to the board.

Roger Bennett, director general of ELSPA, says: "Scott has been an enthusiastic and dedicated chairman for the past two years. He has helped considerably in seeing ELSPA through a period of change and media furore and we wish to extend our thanks for his invaluable contribution. Andy will, we believe, continue this excellent work and help to lead ELSPA forward into a new era."
