Eidos Takes Aim At The 2005 Electronics Entertainment Expo With Compelling Game Line-Up

Eidos, one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, today announces four of its key titles to be unveiled at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, California on May 18-20, 2005. Eidos games will be featured by exclusive appointment only.

"E3 2005 marks the unveiling of the latest instalments of three of the industry's most successful franchises in addition to a first glimpse of two of the most iconic characters, Lara Croft and Agent 47," said Paul Baldwin, Vice President of Marketing, Eidos. "The Tomb Raider, Hitman and Commandos franchises make highly anticipated returns featuring new engines and dramatically enhanced gameplay features. Additionally, Eidos will be presenting 25 To Life the first to market urban shooter featuring timeless Cops and Robbers gameplay."

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend

Video gaming's leading lady returns backed by an all new developer, engine, look and gameplay. Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend is grounded in the series' tomb raiding roots and built to challenge even the most accomplished serial adventurer. Eidos and Crystal Dynamics shaped Lara's look and movements to be an inherent extension of her skills, motivation and personality. An arsenal of modern equipment, such as a magnetic grappling device, binoculars, frag grenades, personal lighting device and communications equipment, allows gamers to experience tomb raiding as never before. New character animations and controls allow her to move through stunning environments with grace and precision, while an understanding of the game's original appeal reinvigorates the fundamental explore-and-solve adventure experience. Tomb Raider: Legend is slated for release on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Windows PC and the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft.

Hitman: Blood Money

The world's deadliest assassin, Agent 47, is back and this time he's paid in cold, hard cash. How the money is spent will affect his passage through the game and the weapons at his disposal, resulting in a unique gameplay experience for each player. In Hitman: Blood Money, Agent 47 finds himself in the midst of a war between two rival contract agencies. When assassins from his contract agency, the ICA, are systematically eliminated in a series of hits, it seems a larger, more powerful agency has entered the fray. Suddenly, Agent 47 loses contact with the ICA. Sensing that he may be the next target, he travels to America where he attempts to carry on with business as usual. Powered by a new version of IO-Interactive's stunning Glacier engine, Hitman: Blood Money will deliver the most brutal and realistic simulation of the life of a merciless assassin. The game will be available on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Windows PC and the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft.

25 To Life

25 To Life is an urban action third person shooter and the first true cops and robbers game to hit the market. Players choose their side and delve into intense online gameplay for up to 16 players, as well as a rich single player experience. Witness the gritty lifestyles of police task forces or strive to survive as a criminal fighting your way out of the streets. Players can fully customise their own law enforcement or criminal characters with the latest gear and take them online to battle for their turf in an array of different play modes. Urban youth culture veteran, P. Frank Williams lends his talents to 25 To Life with his involvement in writing not only the game's deep single player story, but also all in-game dialogue. As an internationally recognized journalist, TV producer, author and commentator, P. Frank Williams brings a level of legitimacy to 25 To Life that is essential for an authentic urban experience. The game will be available for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft and the Windows PC.

Commandos Strike Force

In a new direction for the multi-million selling series, Commandos Strike Force takes you right into the heart of the action from a first person perspective. Gamers will take control of the three members of the Strike Force unit, each with their own play style. Switch between the Green Beret, always at the heart of the action with his expertise in combat and the use of heavy weaponry; the Sniper with his nerves of steel and expert marksmanship; and the Spy, stealthily striking at the heart of the enemy. However, it is your choice how you execute plans of attack by using the Commandos' unique skills. Set in war torn Europe amid the backdrop of World War II, you must take your highly trained group on a series of daring missions, deep behind enemy lines in France, Norway and Russia. Taking control of a Nazi-occupied town, freeing French Resistance prisoners and kidnapping a general are a few of the large range of missions. In addition to a compelling single player campaign, the game features a variety of online multiplayer modes.
