British publisher Eidos has announced several changes to its board, along with the creation of a new media division for the company which is tasked with building on the success of the mobile versions of Tomb Raider.

The new media division, whose brief includes online gaming, emerging platforms such as interactive TV and PDAs and digital distribution as well as the mobile platforms, will be headed up by Simon Protheroe.

Protheroe has been appointed as director of new media and online technologies at the company, and as such will be stepping down from the Eidos board, effective immediately. In his place, the company's European managing director, Jonathan Kemp, will be joining the board.

"The creation of the new media division signals the increasing importance of new media to the growth of the business," according to Eidos CEO Mike McGarvey. "I would like to thank Simon Protheroe for his contribution to the Board and look forward to his continued support and direction as head of our new media division. I am delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Kemp to the Board. He has played a key role in the transformation of Eidos in recent years and we look forward to his contribution at Board level."

The company has also announced a date for a "City Day" presentation, which will see the senior management team meeting with analysts and investors to give an update on the group's progress. The presentation will take place this Thursday, and no new financial or trading information is expected to be revealed during the meeting.
