ECTS Awards: Lucky XIII for Ubi Soft

The annual ECTS Awards have been announced at Earls Court in London, with Ubi Soft's cel-shaded FPS title XIII walking away from the ceremony with the Best Console Game and Game of Show awards tucked under its arm.
The company's multiplayer FPS title Far Cry also won the Best PC Game award, while Everquest 2 - published in Europe by Ubi - picked up the Best Online game award. To top it off, the Game of the Year (Germany) award went to Splinter Cell.
Nintendo somewhat unsurprisingly walked off with the Best Handheld Game award for Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, while the somewhat oddly named London Games Week Award went to Valve's Half-Life 2 - which is causing huge queues in Earls Court despite being almost exactly the same footage that was shown at E3 in May.
The awards were presented by TV personality and soi disant technophile Kate Russell on a specially erected stage in the ECTS show hall at Earls Court. The main awards were chosen by an anonymous panel of journalists on behalf of ECTS.
Be sure to check back tomorrow, when gi.biz will be announcing its own ECTS show awards in partnership with our sister site, Eurogamer.net!
