EBT MOBILE TO SELL MOBILE GAMES IN CHINA THROUGH PROVISIONX

EBT Mobile teams up with ProvisionX to distribute mobile games in their retail stores in the Shanghai region

SINGAPORE - 14 June, 2005 - ProvisionX, provider of an outsourced mobile gaming service delivery platform for mobile operators, gained a foothold in mainland China by securing a contract with EBT Mobile to use its mobile gaming delivery platform for the distribution of mobile games in EBT stores across China.

EBT Mobile will offer a selection of mobile games in its stores to its customers, and they will be able to download the game they bought directly to their handset. By buying a scratch card at the counter and receiving an SMS that links them to the EBT gaming WAP site, customers can enter their unique scratch card number to download the game they bought.

"This channel of distribution is very strategic to us," said Marc Campman, Head of Business Development, ProvisionX. "ProvisionX uses a variety of sales channels including WAP, WWW, advertising and retail. We believe that the mobile phone buying scenario in the Chinese market lends itself very well for selling mobile games via retail".

"Selling mobile phones in China is very competitive," said Zhang Ge, President and COO of EBT Mobile. "ProvisionX enables us to enhance our service offering to our customers without having to invest in additional resources to manage the gaming service."

Ovum expects the revenues from mobile games to grow from US$ 2.5 billion in 2005 to a respectable US$ 4.5 billion in 2008 (about 9% of total premium content revenues). The largest market for wireless games is Asia Pacific, driven by Japan and South Korea. Followed by Western Europe and the US.
